WHAT HAPPENED?

My name is Jessica Sullivan and I found a video on my home security system of DAYTON CROSS, physically assaulting my innocent defenseless child Maddox. Dayton carried my sleeping baby upstairs, threw my 1 YEAR OLD BABY onto my bed, held his face down and punched him as hard as he could in the abdomen, while I was just downstairs brushing my teeth and couldn’t have known what was happening to my poor baby, or defend him from what he did, then went to sleep next to us like he didn’t just punch him so hard he could have killed him. You can hear him stop breathing before he starts to cry that’s how hard he hit him. I found that horrific video 2 days later. This monster has no remorse for what he did, only that he was caught. He was sentenced to only 15 days in jail (ended up only serving 7 days), a 3 year probation, and thankfully... a 5 year restraining order for endangering the welfare of a child.

How someone can punch a baby and not be charged with assault is appalling. How a monster who admittedly, in his video police confession, did this on multiple occasions when I was not around, can walk away with only 7 days in jail is honestly sickening to me.

 

Judge Nikki Moreschi watched that video, said he could have killed my child with that punch but only  It’s disgusting. Our justice system is so incredibly flawed. 2 babies were killed by being physically assaulted just weeks before he was caught doing this! There are no laws that protect our children. And no punishment for the people who harm them. And I am sick of it. Any resources on how to get the word out, and how to help get laws changed, and how to show people that our children have no protection under the law, would be greatly helpful as I don’t know where to go from here but I’m certainly not going to sit back and let nothing change so other children can go through the same things my child did. 

 

I’d like to add, that in 2016, this same man was Indicated in a child abuse case against his older child. He was given an ACOD and this was not even used against him. This is twice now this man is getting away with child abuse!
